Structural Integration (Rolfing) - Boulder, Colorado

Who Should Consider Structural Integration?

All bodies have some degree of disorder and compensation in their structure making SI beneficial for all of us. Individuals with a history of injury or trauma who notice that the effects of these are beginning to interfere with everyday activities are perfect candidates. Often these individuals have tried traditional medical treatments, physical therapy, exercise, stretching or massage with only varying degrees of success. This group might include current or former athletes, musicians, performers, or those engaged in physically demanding jobs or stressful lifestyles.

You should consider Structural Integration if you have experienced or are currently experiencing any of the following:

  • chronic pain (back, knees, ankles, hips, shoulders, neck, etc.)
  • "poor posture" -- sway back; rounded shoulders; head forward; tilted pelvis
  • carpal tunnel and other repetitive stress injuries
  • limited range of motion or stiffness
  • muscular imbalance
  • reoccurring injuries
  • diminished sports performance
  • frequent headaches
  • motor vehicle accident
  • TMJ dysfunction
  • plantar fascitis
  • sciatica
  • surgery

You may also want to consider SI if you are on a spiritual path and you find that your physical limitations prevent you from attaining a higher level of spiritual or emotional peace. Instead of viewing the body as something to transcend, SI can serve as an educational resource allowing you a more intimate and comfortable relationship with your physical body, which in turn allows a greater ability to experience serenity on all planes.

Structural Integration is appropriate for people of all ages.
