Structural Integration (Rolfing) - Boulder, Colorado

About Erica

With a B.S. in psychology I began my career counseling at-risk youth before discovering the world of bodywork. Active in nature and curious about the physical expression of self, I was drawn to the field of massage therapy wherein the body is asked and encouraged to promote self healing through the magnificent medium of touch.

I graduated from Sr. Rosalind's School of Professional Massage in St. Paul, MN, in 2000. After graduating I served as on-site therapist for the University of Minnesota women's athletic teams before relocating to Boulder, CO, in 2001 to pursue continuing education opportunities and Ericato enjoy life in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

In Boulder my practice broadened to include not only professional athletes, but a diverse clientele ranging in everything from age to physical ability. The work I did blended a variety of modalities including Swedish, Sports, Trigger Point Therapy, and Connective Tissue Massage. While I could treat and manipulate soft tissue effectively, and with beneficial results, it often felt as though I was merely treating symptoms. I yearned for a better understanding of how to affect change to the body as a whole. Eager for the larger picture, I completed study in Dr. Ida P Rolf's method of Structural Integration in 2004 and have been practicing this transformative work ever since.

This powerful work appeals to me for its focus on establishing balance of the body as a whole and in gravity; its ability to dramatically alter a person’s structure and patterning; and for the way in which it brings a greater sense of awareness to the client while empowering them through movement education.

After 6 years away adventuring and exploring in various respects, my path has led me back to Boulder, the only place along the way that has ever truly felt like home. I am so grateful to participate in this community once again and I look forward to sharing and growing in this work with you.

Like many of you, in addition to practicing Structural Integraion, I enjoy exploring foreign territories and cultures, music, and various forms of movement including cycling, skateskiing, running, climbing, dancing and yoga.
